Solas
Men's Sober Living · Bucks County, PA

A home for men
in recovery.

Built on community, accountability, and a shared commitment to staying well. Where you live alongside others who truly understand the journey.

Solas is the Irish word for light. We believe that's what recovery gives back, and that it's easier to find when you're surrounded by men who are searching for the same thing.

What is sober
living, exactly?

Recovery doesn't end when treatment does. Most men leave rehab motivated to stay sober, only to discover how difficult it is to return to daily life, work, and relationships all at once, without the structure that helped them get well in the first place.

A sober living home like Solas bridges that gap. It's a structured, substance-free residence where men in early recovery live together, hold each other accountable, and rebuild their lives with the support of others who understand exactly what they're going through.

Solas is not a treatment center, and we don't provide clinical care. We are a home for men who have completed treatment and are ready to do the next part of the work: staying sober in the real world, one day at a time, alongside people who are doing the same.

What we provide

Sober living done right is more than a bed and a curfew. Every aspect of life at Solas is structured to strengthen your recovery, rebuild your independence, and surround you with men who are doing the same.

01
A Structured, Safe Home
A clean, structured home environment, run with the safety and stability of a serious recovery house, and built for men committed to their sobriety.
02
House Meetings & Peer Accountability
Weekly house meetings grounded in honesty, respect, and mutual accountability. Residents hold one another to the standards of the house, and of the program.
03
12-Step Program Integration
Active participation in a 12-step program is a condition of residency. Residents are expected to have a sponsor, attend a home group, and be actively working their steps.
04
Professional Reintegration
Support for returning to work, managing finances, and rebuilding the professional life that addiction interrupted. We meet men where they are and help them move forward with intention.
05
Fellowship & Connection
A house culture built around the home group, the sponsor relationship, and the rooms. The fellowship is where the real work of recovery happens, and we build our house around it.
06
A Community We're Building Together
Giving back is a foundational principle of lasting recovery. As Solas grows, we're building an alumni community so the men who come through our doors stay connected long after they move on.

Life inside
the house

Day to day, life at Solas balances structure with independence. Residents work, attend meetings, and carry real responsibility, both for themselves and for the house.

  • Remain completely substance-free, with random drug and alcohol testing
  • Have a sponsor and attend a home group regularly
  • Attend weekly house meetings and check-ins
  • Work, attend school, or maintain a structured daytime commitment
  • Contribute to household chores and shared responsibilities
  • Treat housemates and staff with respect
  • Daily accountability from men who are walking the same path
  • Distance from the people, places, and routines that once fed the addiction
  • Support rebuilding work, finances, and daily structure
  • A real community of peers, not just a roof and a curfew
  • Reduced relapse risk during the most fragile stage of recovery
  • A flexible length of stay built around your actual progress

Run by someone
who's done the work.

Solas is run day to day by Devin Refice, who has spent over a decade in recovery housing leadership. Devin served as lead house manager at Serenity Transitional Living in New York City, then spent six and a half years at Avenues Recovery, first as a house manager and behavioral health technician and later as Director of Housing, before serving three years as a Director at Junction House. He brings that experience directly into how Solas is run.

We built Solas around what we wished existed when we needed it most: a home where the standard was real recovery, not just a roof and a curfew. Every man who walks through our door is surrounded by people who understand exactly what he's going through, because they're doing the same work, every single day.

Things
people ask

Everything you need to know about living at Solas, whether you're considering it for yourself, asking on behalf of someone you love, or referring a client.

Solas is for men who have completed a primary treatment program and are committed to their recovery. We welcome men at any stage of early sobriety, whether you're coming directly from residential treatment, a PHP, or an IOP. What matters most is your willingness to work a program, live accountably, and be an active member of the house community.

Active participation in a 12-step program is a condition of residency at Solas. This means having a sponsor, attending a home group regularly, and actively working through the steps. We believe the 12-step fellowship, the connections, the accountability, and the spiritual work, is one of the most powerful forces in long-term recovery, and our house culture reflects that.

There is no set maximum length of stay. It depends on your progress and goals. As a general guide, 3 to 6 months helps build stronger habits and independence, while 6 to 12 months or longer is often right for those who want additional structure and relapse protection. Most residents stay between 6 and 18 months, reviewed together along the way. We genuinely encourage longer stays. Recovery takes the time it takes.

Solas is an independently operated sober living home. We are not affiliated with any treatment center or clinical program, though we maintain collaborative relationships with treatment providers throughout the region and welcome referrals from clinicians, counselors, and case managers.

Residents are expected to maintain complete abstinence from all substances, attend weekly house meetings, work actively with a sponsor, attend a home group, contribute to household responsibilities, and maintain employment or a structured daytime commitment. Random drug screening is conducted. Full house expectations are provided during the admissions process.

Weekly fees cover rent, utilities, and access to all house programming and support. Pricing is discussed during your admissions consultation. We are transparent about our rates and are happy to talk through the financial realities of early recovery with you or your family.

Reach out via the contact form below or call us directly. For referrals from treatment professionals, we aim to respond within a few hours. For prospective residents and families, we'll schedule a brief call to understand where you are in your recovery, answer any questions, and determine whether Solas is the right fit.
